Mark has been practicing for over thirty years specializing in construction accidents, 18-wheeler accidents, non-subscriber cases and commercial litigation. He is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law and has been recognized 7 times as a Super Lawyer, a comprehensive group of lawyers who have attained high peer recognition and demonstrated a high degree of achievement in their field. Less than 5% of Texas lawyers achieve Super Lawyer status. Mark was selected to be a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), a select group of lawyers (a small percentage nationwide are accepted into membership; only 433 attorneys in the City of Houston are members of ABOTA) that are committed to preserving the jury system in America. He is also one of Texas's Top Lawyers, as published in Texas Monthly and recognized as a Lawyer of Distinction in Personal Injury Law.
Mark comes from a legal family. Ralph Carrigan, his father, was a partner in the nationwide law firm of Baker Botts. Ralph was President of the Houston Bar Association from 1974-1975. All three of the Carrigan children followed their father into law and all have practiced law in Houston at various times. Mark is proud to continue the Carrigan tradition of being a trial lawyer in Houston, Texas.
Mark received his JD from The University of Houston Law Center in 1984 and his B.B.A. in Accounting (with honors) from the University of Texas in 1980.
Mark is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the District of Columbia Bar and is admitted to practice in the Southern and Western Districts of Texas.
